The women had relied on their talent, humor and honesty, to help educate the public about the prejudice and difficulties that they face during their acting careers. Rousteing was moved by the collective’s best-selling book, noting that “it was their honesty and humor—as well as their strength and resilience—that struck me as I quickly turned each page.”

- Olivier Rousteing

When the women approached Rousteing to help them make a true splash at the Cannes Festival, he was instantly on board, creating a multitude of distinct Balmain couture creations to ensure a strong, powerful and beautiful image of the women was carried live on French television as they made their way up the famous red carpet, before entering into the hall of the world’s most respected film festival.
